Ascending Dragon Guan Yu Sculpture

Formed through the traditional lost-wax casting process, the piece preserves the fine expression of the figure, the layered ornamentation of the armor, and the intricate texture of the dragon scales. Multiple stages of heat patination are then applied to build a warm, restrained depth of color. The golden armor catches the light with a subtle sheen, while the dragon coils upward behind Guan Yu, creating a powerful sculptural contrast between stillness and movement. Guan Yu stands solemnly with the Green Dragon Crescent Blade in hand, embodying a sense of uprightness and integrity. The rising dragon gives the work its name, symbolizing ambition, upward momentum, and the determination to keep moving forward.
